Below & Beyond

Envisioned as an earth landscape,  the façade disappears into the terrain, that it becomes the

landscape itself. Patrons begin their procession at the drop off point. Their approach is pervaded by sounds and sights of people exploring Kampong Glam. Because the building is partially submerged beneath the landscape, the entry to the building entails a gradual deterioration of the visual and auditory connection to the surroundings while descending a long flight of stairs. Upon entering, visitors experience the climax of their transition from a bustling, unrestrain atmosphere to a double volume space with greenery.
